Chicago, IL Quick OnePlus 13 Camera Test

I've been playing with my OnePlus 13 for a couple week's now but haven't had a chance to do a proper test of the camera system. As far as the phone itself, it is fantastic. From battery life, performance and all the usual items to make it a flagship level phone, I give it top marks. To get to the camera, the basis of the test was simple. How would it do if I used it as a standard point-and-shoot camera to take photos and videos in its various modes with minimal concern to settings, angles, etc. To get started, these are over the course of an afternoon on a generally sunny day. Regular photos and videos at 4k/60fps/HDR come out perfect with minimal setup & the occasional selection of focus, etc. Xpan and master modes are good in all modes but generally came out darker unless framed and/or focused proerly.

In summary, the camera has definite improvements so I can recommend it as a daily driver I'm not sure how often anyone would regularly use Xpan & Master modes unless one does some editing n Snapseed or Google Photos to enhance them. As of now for regular users, I would recommend sticking to the standard photo and video modes excluding Xpan and Master.  it you're getting into manual or pro photography levels, then the latter modes can be used for training, practice, etc.
